AGE REQUIREMENTS:
We start children riding our horses at 5 years old. One rider per horse only, no parent and child on the same horse. For the younger ones, we offer option to "tether" children on horses. "Tether" means the trail guide will attach a lead rope to child's' horse and lead them and the child will not have to control horse, they simply sit in the saddle and enjoy the scenery.
RIDING HELMETS:
ALL RIDERS UNDER AGE OF 19 YEARS (18 AND UNDER) MUST WEAR AN EQUESTRIAN RIDING HELMET (UNDER THE HORSE RIDING SAFETY ACT ~ BILL 12) WHICH IS PROVIDED BY WAGONWHEEL RANCH AT NO EXTRA COST.
WAGONWHEEL RANCH RECOMMENDS EQUESTRIAN RIDING HELMETS TO BE WORN BY ALL ADULT RIDERS AS WELL (19 YRS AND OLDER)
"Ontario Legislation Bill 12 - Horse Riding Safety Act, 2001," " Bill 12 requires all riders under the age of 19 riding a horse at a commercial facility to wear a helmet that meets current standards for equipment designed and manufactured for use while riding horses. "
WEIGHT RESTRICTION:
For safety reasons, there is a weight restriction to ride horses. Maximum weight is 275 lbs.
